Case studies

Worked examples, at two scales

Project screens take a single site and ask whether it can advance — approval delta, site suitability, microgrid boundary, financeability readiness. Sector studies take a whole market and ask how big it actually is and who controls it, by reconciling site-level evidence against national accounts. Same engine, two scales.

How to read these

These are public-information desktop screens of the F1-F4 Pre-DD method, not commissioned advice, lender due diligence or bank-approved models. Figures and zones are indicative early-stage outputs. Nothing here is legal, financial, tax, engineering or investment advice.

Grouped by scale: project screens first, then sector studies. Shorter commentary and perspective pieces sit in Research.

Project screens

One site, run through the screen

One project or site at a time: whether it can advance, what the host constrains, and which evidence is still missing. Screens of third-party assets are published anonymised — the method is the point, not the asset.

Weak-grid industrial solar + BESS EaaS

An illustrative screen showing why strong customer value can still fail the lender test under the current debt structure.

Sector studies

A whole market, reconciled

Built bottom-up from site-level evidence, then tested against national accounts assembled a different way. The output is a ceiling and a named residual.

Most of the diesel is on wheels

National reconciliation of the diesel displacement market. Four steps reduce a 1,270 PJ fuel pool to a 45 MW addressable remainder — and identify 390 MW of mine generation booked to the wrong industry.
